Everything you NEED to know about using a shampoo bar for your horse(s)
Washing your horse offers a valuable moment of relaxation and connection, but sometimes it is simply necessary. Whether you have a competition and want your horse to look its best, are coming back from a muddy ride, or your horse has been rolling around in the paddock – a good wash is sometimes unavoidable. Nowadays, more and more horse owners are choosing a shampoo bar as a sustainable, skin-friendly and practical alternative. But what exactly is a shampoo bar and how do you use it?
What is a shampoo ? bar?
A shampoo bar is in fact the same as the traditional shampoo that you know from a bottle, but with one big difference: liquid shampoo consists of about 80% water and is therefore often packaged in (plastic) bottles. A shampoo bar, on the other hand, is a solid form of shampoo, so no ( plastic ) bottle is needed. With our shampoo bar, a paper packaging is therefore sufficient.
Why choose a natural alternative?
Many traditional horse shampoos contain unnatural additives such as parabens, sulphates, SLS, SCI, triclosan, phthalates, plastics, dyes and silicones. These substances can be harmful to your horse's skin and the environment. At Frenky Lewis Horse we believe in the power of nature. For this reason, our shampoo bars contain only pure, natural ingredients that are gentle on your horse's sensitive skin and are better for the planet.
How to wash a horse with a shampoo bar tap in 5 s ?
Washing with a shampoo bar is very easy. We would like to give you a few tips to make using the shampoo bar even easier.
-
Wet your horse's coat thoroughly
Start by thoroughly wetting your horse's coat. This will help loosen dirt and dust and will help the shampoo bar to foam up nicely. -
Wet the shampoo bar thoroughly
If you have a soap bag, use the soap bag to put the shampoo bar in. This gives extra grip, provides a massaging effect, and makes washing easier. Wet your horse's coat well so that the foaming effect is maximum. Is the bar not foaming enough? Add some extra water. -
Massage your horse
Rub the shampoo bar in the soap bag gently over the coat and massage it in. This is the ideal time to pamper your horse. -
Rinse thoroughly
Rinse your horse thoroughly with clean water to remove all shampoo. -
Let the shampoo bar dry
After you are done, let the shampoo bar drain and dry in a dry place with plenty of ventilation. Rinse the soap bag well. To make the bar dry faster, you can remove it from the bag and let both dry separately.
